Many of the items that Wayne Gretzky and his family have cherished throughout his career will be on display including several artifacts associated with his amazing resume of milestones and 61 NHL individual records. From Wayne's first pair of skates at age 2 to his full set of equipment used during his final NHL game in New York, be sure not to miss this exclusive Hockey Hall of Fame special presentation!
Hockey great Jean Beliveau will
appear at the Hockey Hall of Fame for the traditional "Friday
afternoon" autograph session from 4:00 pm through 6:00
pm on November 19th to launch this interactive Induction Weekend (autographs are limited to one item per person).

The "main
event" is the Hockey Hall of Fame 1999 Induction
Celebration on Monday, November 22nd, which
will take place within the architectural splendour of
Heritage Square and Galleria at BCE Place. In keeping
with the tradition established since moving to BCE Place, the Induction Ceremony itself will be
held in the historic Verizon Great Hall at the
Hockey Hall of Fame. The gala celebration will
host an all-time high of 3,000 guests who will witness
hockey history while partaking in a spectacular evening
of food and live entertainment (Gala Tickets at
$299 each were SOLD OUT in record time). Television will also provide a large viewing audience
with the opportunity to witness this historic event
through live broadcasts on TSN and ESPN2 (click here for details).
In addition, the Hockey Hall of Fame website www.hhof.com goes live and interactive as it partners with TSN.ca to provide the first-ever webcast of an Induction ceremony. This joint production will bring exclusive behind the scenes shots, profiles and commentary, as well as footage from the gala event.
Now in its seventh year of operation at its vibrant location in BCE Place, there couldn't have been a better script written for the Hockey Hall of Fame as the new millennium draws near. Wayne Gretzky, arguably the greatest player ever, will join the ranks of Beliveau, Howe, Hull, Orr, Richard and the 215 legendary players memorialized in hockey's cathedral of icons. Joining Wayne as our newest Honoured Members will be Ian "Scotty" Morrison, a great builder and friend of the Hockey Hall of Fame, and Andy Van Hellemond whose exceptional career as a NHL referee is unparalleled. For the dedicated management and staff of the Hockey Hall of Fame, Induction night is a time of celebration and reflection as we honour hockey's legends and celebrate Canada's gift to the world - the game of hockey!
Although the Hockey Hall of Fame
is closed to the public on Monday,
November 22nd, the Spirit of Hockey store will
be open until 4:00 PM. Aside from the exciting
promotional activities surrounding the Induction
Weekend, there will also be exclusive opportunities to
purchase limited quantities of commemorative
merchandise. |
